Job Description

CNFA is currently seeking qualified candidates for Chief of Party (COP) for the upcoming USAID Egypt Climate Resilient Agricultural Market Systems Activity. This Activity aims to improve the sustainable productivity of smallholder farmers, strengthen the role of market-driven service providers; and improve the enabling environment for agriculture and food security. The COP will be responsible for the overall management of the Activity, including technical, financial, and administrative functions. The COP will act as the chief liaison to USAID and key stakeholders to ensure the Activity meets results and benchmarks. The ideal candidate will have significant experience implementing market systems approaches to climate-smart agricultural development and food security.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide overall technical and operational leadership of the Activity.
  • Build an integrated vision among diverse project stakeholders with a focus on achieving results.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to USAID and key stakeholders, including government, the private sector, service providers, and Activity partners.
  • Ensure that technical and administrative policies and procedures comply with USAID and CNFA regulations and guidance.
  • Oversee Activity finance, administration, and home office practices and ensure they comply with USAID and CNFA policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and create professional development opportunities to sustain staff engagement and build local capacity.
  • Promote knowledge management and shared learning by leading technical events and presentations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing similar donor projects, preferably in the Middle East or North Africa.
  • Demonstrated experience working in agricultural development, climate adaptation and mitigation, climate-smart technologies, climate finance, or private sector climate investment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Egyptian context and ability to leverage local and international networks to identify and implement feasible solutions.
  • Proven management experience as a COP (or equivalent) in agriculture market systems is required.
  • Experience in private sector engagement and in other agribusiness projects is preferred.
  • Experience working with government counterparts, the private sector, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate large teams and work effectively and collaboratively in team environments.
  • Master’s degree in a field related to agriculture, economics, or business administration is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in Arabic is preferred.
