Together, we’re working at the pace of change to improve patient lives with diagnostic tools that address the world’s biggest health challenges.The Chief Medical Officer, Danaher Diagnostics, will drive the implementation of Danaher Diagnostics’ medical objectives across the lifecycle of discovery, development and launch. This leader will clinically elevate core disease strategies in partnership with the Innovation LT, informing external research partnership strategy and core gap analysis; establishing the Danaher platform scientific external communication; and defining the excellence level of medical and scientific deliverables such as integrated evidence plans (IEPs) and publication strategies at both the Diagnostics platform and its OpCos.Reporting to the Chief Innovation Officer, Danaher Diagnostics, this position will be fully remote and can operate from Europe, extensive US presence needed.Specific duties include but are not limited to:Member of the Innovation LT as well as core governance meetings for M&A, Innovation and Research.
Build and evolve the scientific Danaher Dx narrative in partnership with operating companies and Innovation LT defining communication tiles, congress plan as well as account priorities

  • Work with Disease Area experts to elevate our external communication and congress presence
  • Represent Danaher Dx at core scientific venues or priority accounts representing the scientific across platform ambition (20% of time)

Define medical excellence standards as well as core book of work of medical in cross functional teams focusing on unmet medical need assessment as well as clinical need impact across launches. Thereby build community of practice with medical teams in operating companies jointly elevating the bar.

Oversee external research strategies and partnerships focusing on clinical strategy, academic mapping of core experts as well as clinical ambition/hypothesis. Establishing scientific Review of new Research activities including CMO community establishing standards.

  • Build consistency in contracting, milestone payment, fair market value and executional oversight in partnership with Finance and Operations

Establish international Innovation organization defining purposefully needs and hubs, deliverables and talent needsThe essential requirements of the job include:

  • Advanced degree(s) (MD) with clinical experience as specialist.
  • Minimum of 15 years of leadership experience with a significant tenure in industry, medical or RnD roles in Pharma or Diagnostics with a proven track record of driving interdisciplinary innovations
  • Strong strategic knowledge and experience in building strategies across disease areas informing external partnerships and Research strategy.
  • Previous leadership experience in scientific as well as commercial impact roles allowing broad business understanding as well as commercial impact language and tactical build as well as peer to peer scientific discussions and leadership internally, able to be recognized as external spokesperson representing Danaher Dx RnD.
  • Able to ask the critical clinical questions informing launch readiness as well as M&A discussions
  • Clinical experience in protocol design and clinical execution of studies/trials.
  • Executive presence and strategic mindset that sets an ambitious and credible vision, organizational savvy to navigate and manage ambiguous and complex scenarios, deep technical knowledge of medicine as well as research and ability to orchestrate and marshal resources (people, business relationships, funding, and vendors) to build capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex data to non-technical audiences, and the ability to combine and apply technical and business knowledge to make balanced decisions
  • 65% Travel Required

This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
