The Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences is one of six schools within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. The School is undergoing vigorous growth and attracts some of the best students nationally and internationally to its broad range of accredited undergraduate, graduate, professional programs as well as its comprehensive research programs.
About the Role
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to assist with the organisation and operations of the Melbourne Centre for Behaviour Change within the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences. This will include assisting with organising events, visits by international or guest speakers, grant writing, ethics applications, research activities, managing the Centre’s online and media presence, and contributions to the School’s media strategy. In the role, you will also liaise closely with the School Professional staff team to ensure optimum support for Centre activities and academic groups within the Centre.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with preparing grant applications from the Centre
- Assisting with and coordinating the preparation of Ethics applications and relevant follow-up
- Assisting with research activities (e.g., booking focus group room facilities, making gift card payments to participants)
- Regularly liaising with staff and students to support Centre activities
- Maintaining the Centre’s public profile channels, including updating the website, brochures and social media
About You
You will possess a strong interest in working in a research environment and in coordinating team activities with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will bring your well-developed organisational and time management skills and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
You will also have:
- A relevant tertiary degree
- Knowledge of psychology / public health environments
- Experience in project management, including managing multiple projects and team members
