Posting Summary	Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) is currently seeking a Central Sterile Technician II for the Office for Clinical Affairs. Under supervision, the Central Sterile Technician II performs work related to the care, sterilization, packing, and disbursement of equipment and supplies. Maintains all aspects of sterilization procedures related to dental instruments and supplies associated with patient care within various clinical operations. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Operates and monitors steam autoclaves, sonic washers and other sterilizing equipment. Keeps records of loads completed, items in loads, and maintenance procedures performed. Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments, equipment, and assembles wraps and sterilizers cassettes, trays and instruments. Followers proper Standard Precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas. Monitors biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and equipment. Maintains necessary supply levels in sterile storage areas. Verifies that equipment functions properly, requisitions for equipment maintenance, repair or replacement, and removes defective equipment. Assists with maintaining established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality improvement, safety and environmental and infection control standards.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement	Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience	One (1) year of experience in health care, medical or dental setting or a closely related setting using sterile procedures.
Certifications/Licenses	New Jersey Central Service Certification is required for this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities	Knowledge of decontamination, sterilization, assembly, packing and monitoring of instrumentation.
