Catering Supervisor

REF: GG564

£19,578 to £20,761 per annum

UEA Retail & Catering Services are seeking a confident and enthusiastic supervisor to become part of the management team of their pizza kitchen, late night food trailer and barista coffee shop.

This is primarily a hands-on food and hot beverage production role at a supervisory level and would suit someone with previous catering supervisory experience, ideally from kitchens or barista coffee shops. The role will involve stock management, customer service, people management and administration, as you will be managing a casual staff team of mostly students. You will be expected to work across our services, and, due to the nature of the business, the ability to work both late nights and early morning shifts is important.

Previous experience as a supervisor is essential, as are excellent interpersonal skills. You will need a flexible and professional approach to work, good attention to detail and excellent organisation skills are required for this role. A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate is desirable but not essential.

If you are passionate about your career and looking for a good work life balance, this is an excellent opportunity for you.  This rare opportunity in our trade benefits from a 36.25 hour working week. You’ll enjoy time off during our Christmas and Easter closure and an increased opportunity for leave during the summer months compared with the rest of the industry.

Benefits also include excellent pension and annual leave entitlements.

This full-time role is available immediately on an indefinite basis.

Closing date:  13 October 2022

The University is committed to diversifying its workforce. As examples, we already hold an Athena SWAN Silver Institutional Award in recognition of our advancement towards gender equality. We also have a Vice-Chancellor led Taskforce on Tackling Racism and a Race Equality Charter Working Group which support our work on race equality. Our aim is to submit to the Race Equality Charter in 2024.
