Position Summary:
Research projects
Conducting literature searches and reviews
Recruitment (meet participants, explain studies, explain informed consent)
Prepare incentives for participants
Data collection (interviews, surveys, observation, etc…)
Data entry (quantitative and qualitative)
Data management (coding, preparing results tables)
Publications
Preparation and formatting manuscript, edit, grammar, spell check, cross reference
Management of reference lists
Submission of paper through online submission system
Monitoring decision-making process
Assistance with resubmissions/edits
Conference presentations
Assistance with abstract submissions
Assistance with presentation slide preparation
Creation of posters for poster presentations
Ethics submissions
Preparation of documents (format, completing forms, preparing cover letters, consent forms)
Application collation
Delivery of application to the IRB
Miscellaneous
Photocopying
Preparing packages
Phone calls
Ordering supplies
Filing
Record keeping
Attending team meetings
Communicating with colleagues
Maintaining reference manager
Updating CVs
Organizing information and records on research computer
Other appropriate tasks
Qualifications:
The suitable candidate must have knowledge of or experience in:
-An undergraduate degree
-Word processing, Microsoft word or other programs
-Power point
-Excel
-End note or other reference manager program
The following knowledge would be an asset:
– Qualitative data collection (including conducting and transcribing interviews, focus groups, observations and document analysis), and qualitative data management, secure storage and analysis.
– Master’s degree in a Social Science discipline or Education
– Bilingualism (fluency in both English and French)
– Ability to think conceptually
– Experience in ethnographic observation
– Ethics (IRB) submission process experience
– Experience using NVivo or other qualitative data management software
– Quantitative research skills
– Willingness and ability to work flexible hours

Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.
