Case Manager

Position Summary

The Case Manager is part of a collaborative team responsible for receiving and processing reports of harassment and discrimination under the University’s Anti- Discrimination Policy and Relationship Violence and Sexual Misconduct and Title IX Policy. The central duty of this role is focused on initial intake and documentation of reported misconduct. Duties include acting as a resource for questions, outreach to impacted parties, connection of individuals to campus and community resources, and written and verbal communication with campus partners prior to closure or assignment of the case to an investigator.

General Responsibilities:

  • Receipt and response to reports of harassment and discrimination (including sexual misconduct) by phone, in-person, and/or virtual or digital platforms in a trauma-informed and inclusive manner
  • Assessment of reported information for applicable potential policy violations
  • Accurate and professional communication to parties, campus partners, and other staff
  • Accurate and detailed documentation in electronic case files
  • Ability to independently follow-up on communications
  • Adherence to multiple deadlines
  • Dedication to regular training
  • Attendance and ability for public speaking to present information at various meetings
  • Organized management of a busy caseload
  • Privacy and discretion in response to sensitive disclosures

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program, experience with word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation software and/or desktop publishing, web page software or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience or education in social work, psychology, human resources, or any field with skills that translate to the duties of the position.
  • Knowledge or a willingness to learn relevant state and federal laws and regulations, including Title IX, Title VII, the Clery Act, the ADA, the ADEA, the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act, and/or FERPA
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and trauma informed practices
