Summary

Baylor College of Medicine’s Facilities team is looking to hire a Carpenter.

 

Our Carpenters build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials as needed. The Carpenter will build, repair or maintain research labs, offices and buildings.

Job Duties

• Assembles casework items for construction projects.
• Builds or modifies epoxy or laminate counter-tops.
• Installs aluminum framing, commercial doors, metal studs and sheetrock.
• Works from drawings or verbal instructions.
• Repairs high grade articles of furniture such as cabinets, chairs, store fixtures, and office equipment.
• Performs carpentry duties using a variety of carpentry hand and power tools.
• Maintains clean work area and assists lead carpenter in cleaning up completed projects.
• Cuts out wood trim and plastic laminates for case work projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of relevant trade or technical school program.
• Commercial carpentry experience.
