Carleton College, Department of Philosophy, invites applications for a two-year Cowling postdoc starting on September 1, 2023. The position involves half-time research and writing and half-time teaching for a total of five courses over a two-year, six-term period (2-3 courses per year) as well as helping to organize a workshop on the candidate’s topic of choice in their research area that would take place at Carleton during the second year of their residence here.

The candidate must have a Ph.D. in hand (received less than five years ago) by the start date of the position.

AOS – One or more of the following: Philosophy of Race, Africana Philosophy, Indigenous Philosophy, Latinx Philosophy, or other non-Western Philosophical traditions.

AOC – Open, but we have needs in courses in Decolonial Studies, Decolonial Feminism, Philosophy of Technology, Aesthetics or at the intersection of these fields.
