As a subject matter expert, the Careers and Corporate Relations Manager, MBA Programs will work under broad direction with a considerable degree of autonomy and will determine how their key accountabilities are to be carried out to achieve the goals. They have discretion to plan their work on a daily, weekly and often monthly to yearly basis to ensure that their key accountabilities are met, and work goals are achieved. They will resolve complex matters related to their key accountabilities and collaborate with other staff on complex issues that have some relevance to their key accountabilities. They will have staffing responsibilities and need to elicit the assistance of others to achieve work goals. They will be the point of contact for escalated issues related to their key accountabilities, and more junior staff may look to them for guidance and support in achieving their work goals. Actions and decisions are taken collaboratively where appropriate. This role is responsible for budget development and management and delegated financial authority as appropriate to the level.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • work with the current Career & Corporate Relations Manager to provide strategic support and operational leadership in corporate engagement and career management services for the MBA programs
  • be responsible for cultivating and managing strong working relationships with MBA employers and individuals both locally and internationally as relevant to all aspects of the MBA programs
  • be responsible for developing and managing the provision of a suite of MEE branded programs (including MBA Dimensions) to MBA (part-time), MBA (full-time) and EMBA students and alumni using innovative tools and technology. 

About you

We are looking for a Careers and Corporate Relations Manager, MBA Programs who possesses:

  • previous experience in working with MBA students and alumni is highly regarded
  • excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills together with high level of tact, diplomacy and discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • excellent organisational and prioritising skills and advanced project management skills with a high level of IT literacy
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling a wide range of enquiries and providing excellent customer service in both business development and relationship management and competencies in public speaking and professional presentation skills
  • flexibility to work after hours and availability for overseas travel
  • high level administrative skills including experience in establishing, monitoring and reviewing administrative procedures
  • strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
  • demonstrated experience in the supervision, training, mentoring and performance management of staff; and experience managing and resolving a diverse range of HR issues
  • financial management experience and literacy, experience managing budgets and controlling income and expenditure.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
