The Academic Advising & Career Centre (AA&CC) embraces a holistic philosophy in its delivery of integrated academic advising, learning skills, career development and employment coaching services to students. Your opportunity:
As part of a dynamic Academic Advising & Career Centre (AA&CC) team, you will foster students’ academic and career development, with a collaborative focus on student success and engagement. This is achieved by embracing a holistic philosophy in the department’s delivery of integrated programs, services and events to our diverse student population. Within the AA&CC, the Career Development and Employment Development (CEED) team supports and engages students and new graduates in their exploration and achievement of career, employment and further education goals. The Career Development and Employment Development team also operates as a collaborative hub of expertise for the campus community in supporting our diverse population of undergraduate and graduate students.
With a student-focused commitment to excellence and innovation, the Career Supports, Team Lead will assist the CEED team in the successful development and delivery of dynamic and high impact programs, services, resources and events for undergraduate and graduate students, and new alumni. You will work collaboratively to strengthening methods of practice and core services, including expanding resources and opportunities for students’ self-directed job search and experiential learning activities with a career development focus. This work is accomplished through the student-focused commitment of staff, and strong collaborations with campus and tri-campus partners.
In your role, you will also provide individual and group career counselling services for undergraduate and graduate students. This entails advising and coaching students on career self-management, decision-making, planning and goal setting. This also includes overseeing the research and development of outcome-oriented career education and experiential learning programming, resources and tools. Your student-focused commitment to fostering a team approach of evidence-based practice, results-orientation, and learning and development will assure that these services and resources are responsive and impactful.
