The Buyer’s Assistant is an integral member of the shop AT NAIT procurement team providing
buying support to our Learning Materials Specialist and Merchandise Specialist buyer. As directed this position will be responsible
for compiling and analyzing supply needs for the procurement team, helping to
build out PO’s and tracking orders as required.
This position will help liaison with other areas of our operations to
ensure supply requirements are met and delivered in a timely manner. We are
looking for a creative, professional individual to join our team and provide outstanding
customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organizing, compiling, tracking, and recommending order quantities
for learning materials and general merchandise. - Process program requisitions for buyer approval.
- Ensuring that services are continuous and not impacted by missed
deadlines, product shortages, quality compromises, or inflated costs. - Assist
with communication to vendors to ensure timely and accurate order details. - Liaison
with departments and academic groups to develop relationships and deliver
exceptional customer service - Liaison
with other departments within shop AT NAIT to ensure accurate and speedy
receiving processes - Communicate
special order details. - Understand
NAIT branding guidelines in order to guide clientele choices.
Skills
& Abilities:
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills are
required for this role working with Excel, Word, Adobe and creative engine
applications. - Previous
experience purchasing products for resale in a post-secondary environment (e.g.
university bookstore) is highly desirable; similar experience in a large retail
or service environment will also be considered. - Knowledge
of industrial supply lines and educational resource. - Excellent
communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. - Attention
to detail, deadline driven, and organizational skills are strong assets.
Qualifications:
- Completion of grade 12.
- Related post-secondary certificate or diploma.
- Several years of related experience in retail or
service environments with a proven track record of customer service excellence. - Experience and knowledge of creative engine software
applications. - Equivalencies may be considered.
Remuneration: $39,831.25
– $51,426.65 (based on 32.625 hours per week) annually, plus a comprehensive
benefits package. (Classification – Administrative Support IV).
Th is
position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE)
Collective Agreement.
