Summary of Job Duties:
The Business Services Manager is vital to the success and efficient functioning of the overall purchasing process for the School of Art. This position will oversee business services functions for the School of Art. This includes p-card administration, travel services (authorizations, claims, and t-cards), purchasing, personal reimbursements, and vendor contracts. Oversee procurement of goods and services for the School, use of extensive experience and judgment to develop and implement procurement strategies using best practices to ensure continuous supply of quality and cost-effective goods and services.
The Manager will ensure compliance with the University Purchasing Department’s policies and procedures, including generating purchase requests and/or procure small dollar department purchases and record and allocate transactions. Ensure costings are allocated accurately through regular data analysis and monthly reporting. Serve as a “customer service” resource for faculty and answers questions related to business services related matter and University procurement policies/procedures. This position will report to the School of Art Director of Administration and Communication and will work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Financial Administration and the Director of Programs and Business Operations in Fulbright College. In addition, the Manager will lead and manage business services staff and perform all other duties as assigned.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, general business, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
At least four years of experience in fiscal operations, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the University of Arkansas software systems and policies and procedures
Experience using the Workday finance system
Experience with grant management and budgeting
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of fiscal management, including budget development, purchasing, and asset management
Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, and agency/institution policies and applicable laws
Knowledge of advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Skilled in problem-solving
Ability to provide purchasing strategies to improve ease of purchasing and timelines
Ability to prepare budgets and monitor expenditures
Ability to interpret and apply laws, policies, and procedures
Ability to plan, prioritize, document, and implement
Ability to exercise excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to exercise excellent organization and analytical skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people
Additional Information:
This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
Salary Information:
$45,000
