Business Analyst


Description
Responsible for handling a range of financial administrative duties associated with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement and day-to-day operations. Also assigned ad-hoc projects as deemed necessary by the department.
Qualifications
Minimum:
– Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or other related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
– Experience: Three or more years of business administrative experience.
– Skills:
• Good Knowledge financial operations.
• Excellent organizational and negotiating skills; ability to interact with campus community and external sponsors
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; computer literacy
• Analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills; ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
– Physical Mobility:
• Normally sedentary position with some mobility, i.e. able to travel to and work at various campus locations
• May require some bending, stretching, pushing as well as lifting several reams of paper, etc.
– Environmental Conditions: Usual office setting; close contact with computer monitor for long period of time.
– Mental:
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to work under pressure
• Ability to meet inflexible deadlines; ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with difficult people or situations as well as frequent interruptions.
– Other: Evening and week-end hours may be required.
– Preferred:
• Education: MBA or other advanced degree in related field such as finance, accounting, etc.
• Licenses: CPA
• Experience: Experience in accounting in not-for-profit organizations.
JOB FUNCTIONS OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
% EFFORT ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
40 Handling the Accounts Payable process (Processing vendor invoices for payment, coordinating with different departments for invoice approval/payment follow up)
20 Collection of Tuition from students and any Student, Vendor & Employee Reimbursement
15 Assisting in the procurement functions of the University
15 Assisting in preparing month end / year end close reports
10 Performing related duties as required
