Our Estates and Facilities Team in Coventry University Enterprises Limited provides the essential functions to support the continued UK and international growth of the University, providing the spaces, facilities, infrastructure, and expertise to create a world class experience for all our customers, without which we wouldn’t be ranked so highly or have won our numerous awards.

We have the opportunity for 2X Building Surveyors to join the Estates Team, working across the wide range of education and residential buildings that make up the University Campus in Coventry, from our Art Deco 1880’s Ellen Terry building to our state of the art modern education facilities.

The post holders will be responsible for the day-to-day management of individual projects and also the delivery of large elements of the overall programme of work, alongside supporting the management of regulatory records such as fire compartmentation surveys, asbestos surveys and building condition surveys.

Working with the guidance of the Senior Building Surveyor, the team will complete both planned and reactive projects, and will demonstrate the ability to solve high impact building issues within live buildings causing minimal disruptions and with a focus on quality, cost, sustainability and environmental factors.

Excellent communication skills will be used to work alongside the wider Estates team, providing advice to in house maintenance and design teams, managing contractors and engaging with key internal and external stakeholders.

The vacancy would suit either a Graduate, or experienced Building Surveyor who demonstrates;

  • HND/HNC in Building surveying is essential along with an in depth knowledge of current building regulations and legislation (RICS not essential)
  • Experience in managing all aspects of building repairs and planned maintenance in a cost effective manner
  • Working knowledge of Building Contracts, JCT, NIC, and forms of contract MTC, Minor and AutoCAD would be advantageous
