Building Operations Coordinator

Responsible for the monitoring of building and infrastructure systems and providing response to emergencies and equipment failures; maintenance of the facility and infrastructure including equipment; data collection and analysis; planning, implementing, and monitoring of projects and activities; assigning and coordinating work projects; and coordination with internal and outside repair and construction vendors. 

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree, AND: 

• 24 months of professional building management/facilities experience.

Equivalency/Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.

Skills:

• Must have basic knowledge and understanding of various HVAC systems and their components, as well as electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
• Must have knowledge of building maintenance tools, equipment, supplies and material and be able to use tools or equipment utilized in building maintenance with expertise.
• Must be proficient in basic computer software and able to perform basic math computations.
• Must be highly organized and able to handle multiple projects.
• Must be able to communicate well and effectively.
• Must be able to complete work within deadlines.
• Must have strong initiative to solve problems, and exercise some discretion, ingenuity, and independent judgement.
• Must be able to work independently and with interdepartmental teams and initiatives.
• Must have good presentation (oral and written communication) skills.
• Must use established occupational health and safety practices.

Certifications:

• Oklahoma State Electrical Journeyman License (current)
• Oklahoma State Mechanical Journeyman License (current)

Advertised Physical Requirements:

• Hearing, vision, speaking, and dexterity.
• Ability to drive.
• Mobility, agility, lifting (min 40 lbs), carrying, reaching above shoulders, climbing ladders and working at heights, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, and crawling.
• Frequent exposure to safety hazards from chemicals and onerous odors and extreme temperature changes.
• Willingness to wear and maintain uniforms, including head covering.

Department Preferences:

• 60 months experience with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems up to 300-ton chillers and 200,000 BTU steam heating systems
• 36 months experience in museum or hospital related environmental humidity control systems.
• Oklahoma State Electrical Contractor License (current)
• Oklahoma State Mechanical Contractor License (current)
• Refrigeration Service Engineers Society- Universal Proper Refrigerant Practices Certification
