ROLE of the POSITION

The Greenspun College of Urban Affairs seeks a Building and Events Coordinator for the Dean’s office. The primary roles of this position are as follows:

  • Event Coordination – This position functions as the leader of the special events team for all College events and meetings. The incumbent will develop and create events with themes in consultation with the dean and other appropriate Dean’s Office personnel. Project assignments will include work with external as well as internal constituents on multiple events. Events will vary in complexity and size.

  • Building and Asset Management – This position will also allocate and monitor space, coordinate all building upgrades, and inventory control within Greenspun Hall. Additional projects include building and emergency management compliance.

  • Greenspun Hall Auditorium – This position will be responsible for approving, scheduling, and invoicing all auditorium events. The incumbent will hire, train, and supervise event management student staff members for auditorium events. This requires high-level service and attention to attend to guest’s requests and needs. The incumbent will also monitor the Auditorium budget.

  • Purchasing and Hosting – The incumbent will manage and complete purchases for the College and academic units. Thoroughly review all hosting requests for the dean to meet NSHE policies and procedures.

  • Communication and collaboration – The Building and Events Coordinator must have the ability to effectively communicate, engage in collaborative projects, and build professional relationships across the College and units.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1-3 years of experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiar with Workday

  • Billing procedures for service sales and recharge

  • Knowledge of NSHE hosting policies
