Biotech and Healthcare Investment Associate

This Boston-based multi-billion-dollar family office of a highly regarded private equity executive invests across asset classes and sectors with a strong focus on healthcare and biotech opportunities. The investment associate would join a highly entrepreneurial team with significant development opportunities and responsibility runway; attractive compensation structure with performance-driven upside. Desired start date in Q3 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Scientific and commercial diligence:
o Perform due diligence on life sciences investment opportunities (scientific data packages, competitive landscape, market sizing and dynamics, target positioning, potential growth and risk factors) to assess attractiveness of potential investments in the pipeline across indications, modalities and stages; and provide recommendations on the overall investment opportunity.
o Perform pharmacology modeling and statistical analysis on in vivo preclinical and clinical trial data to help assess the scientific and translational merits of data packages within private and public investment opportunities.

• Thought leadership: Contribute thoughtful perspective to team’s overall investment process and philosophy; proactively develop investment perspectives and provide sourcing recommendations on new investment opportunities (asset classes, sectors and/or specific targets) based on independent research and analysis.

• Portfolio support: Help monitor portfolio performance and allocation over time; support evaluation of new tools including AI for data analysis.
• Sourcing: Help standardize the firm’s internal science-first deal sourcing funnel grounded in ongoing literature reviews and scientific landscape tracking, with the goal of proactively surfacing high-potential opportunities and synthesising key developments into clear, regular briefings for the investment team.

Desired Skills / Experience

• High integrity: Strong values prioritizing ethics, inclusion, and mutual respect. • Relevant background and professional experience:

o 2+ years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry (including CROs), investing, or data analysis within healthcare and/or biotech
o Undergraduate degree in pharmacology or related field with robust biostatistic capabilities; in case of a master’s or more advanced degree profiles with less professional experience may be considered.

• Communication skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work credibly with founders/co-investors/high-profile experts and to form strong personal relationships, both internally and externally; ability to present findings verbally and in writing in a logical, crisp and well thought out manner and debate them with other team members

• Team orientation: Track record of being open, collaborative, dependable, and supportive in the long-term interests of the team
• Highly motivated self-starter: Desire to “roll up his/her sleeves” to get job done; proactive in both overall work scoping and approach to specific investment opportunities; well-organized with good project management skills and strong attention to detail

• Entrepreneurial spirit: Demonstrated ability to think “outside the box” and generate creative approaches to generate attractive financial and strategic returns
