Job Description:

Processing of cell and tissue samples for analysis via microscopic imaging platforms. This includes the employment of molecular grade sample handling, precision tissue slicing, immunohistochemistry staining, and next generation high-content and spatial imaging preparation.

Scientific instrument usage and maintenance of equipment such as:  high-content imaging platforms, fluorescence and confocal microscopes, and other advanced biological measurement platforms.

 Analysis, visualization, and reporting of generated data via regular updates to project manager and/or PI. This will include data visualization and methods descriptions preparation for reports.

 Sample management, data quality control and metadata compilation for large datasets by interfacing with data management staff, project technicians, and project managers.

General lab maintenance and upkeep to abide by EH&S and requirements in the handling of chemical and biohazardous materials.

Provide collaborative support to other UFDI staff, students, and faculty members with crossover experiments.

Expected Salary:

$21.55 – $23.94 Commensurate with experience and education.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in biology or a closely related life science field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in human sample processing and tissue imaging.

-Minimum three years of type 1 diabetes research experience.

-Specific experience with the Miltenyi Macsima imaging platform.

-Experience with imaging software such as Aperio and Imaris.

-Experience in SQL or similar database environments, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
