JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University is hiring a Better Kid Care Editor. This full-time position is responsible for editorial support for educational resources developed by the Better Kid Care program. Responsibilities include reading, evaluating, and editing all educational resources and conferring with authors regarding changes in content, style or organization, or publication. Job duties include:

• Rewriting and/or editing educational resources to improve readability.

• Reading copy or proof to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax.

• Assist authors in translating technical content into online educational training modules.

• Review citations and reference listings.

• Contribute to editorial guidance for resource development.

• Follow the author’s guidance for updating course content for online courses.

Education and Experience:

This position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Microsoft Word, Filemaker, Plone, and editorial work is desired. Must be able to work in a self-paced environment while meeting multiple deadlines.
