Salary Package: From $76,908 – $87,443 (HEW Level 5), plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading
Appointment Type: Full Time, 3 Year Fixed Term
Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, Dharug land, North Ryde

THE ROLE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage all enquires (via e-mail, phone, in the system or in person), prioritising Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) and Behavioural Economics Team Australia (BETA) applications, and respond to straight forward enquiries, re-directing or escalating where complex or appropriate

  • Arrange and coordinate HREC and sub-committee meetings, events, training sessions and functions including arranging room bookings, catering, agenda and materials preparation, minute taking, invoicing, and providing other administration support where required.

  • Provide administration support for the Human Ethics Manager including administrative changes to approved ethics applications and correspondence on  ethics applications

  • Monitor all ethics applications (prioritising CTU and BETA), amendments, adverse events, annual and final reports, and other correspondence in the ethics management system; Forms for Research Applications (FoRA).

  • Administer invoicing for the HREC, liaising with finance where required 

  • Provide administrative support to the he Human Research Ethics Manager in the coordination and implementation of ethics projects and the preparation of reports to the University and Government authorities as required

  • Administer the HREC membership records and following up where necessary to ensure memberships are current

  • Support the Ethics Secretariat website and newsletter

  • Actively contribute to the improvement of Human Ethics administrative processes

  • Comply with relevant EEO and WHS regulations

  • Perform any other duties as required and as appropriate for the incumbent’s level of competence
