Position Summary:
 
People Services is a trusted partner in providing administrative support functions that allow the UCI community to focus on their core functions to accomplish the UCI mission of teaching, research, public service, and patient care. Members of People Services work in close collaboration with all three business units to meet clients’ needs and expectations. People Services is directly accountable to the Chief HR Officer & Vice-Chancellor, but also has a duty to meet the service expectations of the executive director for each local HR unit. The objective of the department is to position ourselves to cultivate a strong, collaborative relationship with HR and its clients, identify opportunities for enhancing organizational effectiveness, and serve as a technical point of contact for assigned functional area.
 
This position acts as a subject matter expert and liaison addressing many critical components of UCs Health & Insurance and Retirement plans throughout the employee life cycle from onboarding, during life events, to preparing and completing the retirement process. A successful candidate is often relied upon as a leader and primary point of contact to provide education and counseling for a very diverse UCI population and must have the ability to identify and resolve complex data inquiries that directly impact employees and their benefits. While supporting all UCI employees, the Benefits Analyst is also responsible for identifying process and service gaps across all internal vendors and championing change where desired to ensure a seamless transition for our employees into retirement. All aspects of the employee life cycle and the role impact of each vendor are fully represented within People Service to truly provide great value to our employees.
 
Compensation Range:
 
$64,400 – $89,300

Required:
 
Two to five years of experience in a like role is required for this position.
Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and demonstrated ability to leverage this technology in organizing data and identifying data anomalies.
 
Preferred:
 
Demonstrated strong writing, speaking, and group presentation skills to present information in a clear and concise manner to multiple levels in the organization. Comprehensive knowledge of the organization’s employee benefits function and programs and can address unique circumstances as well as routine situations. In-depth knowledge of all benefits programs to provide information and interpretation. In-depth knowledge of applicable state and federal law. Strong analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills. Strong in-depth knowledge of organization policies and procedures; knowledge of functional area and understands how work may impact other areas. Familiarity with case management platforms and the employee case management life cycle.
