The Center’s head office is located in Amman.

SRD Center seeks a consultant in Banking and Guarantee to contribute to a project aims to strengthen the capacity of bank guarantees facility in Iraq by improving its operational efficiency, risk management capabilities, and overall effectiveness. The project activities will focus on organizational assessment and planning, followed by the guaranteed capacity strengthening through the setting up of the guarantee facility. The project will include the following key tasks and deliverables:

1. Desk Review Report and Inception Report

2. Deep Dive Assessment and Restructuring

3. SOP Development

4. Training and Coaching Program Development and Implementation

5. M&E Framework Development and Implementation

6. Environmental and Social Risk compliance

7. Deployment plan of the guarantee fund

8. Hand over and final report

Required Competencies

• A master’s degree in related field such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
• Must have at least 7 years of relevant Banking and Guarantee professional qualifications.
• Must have a strong understanding of the Iraqi context is preferable.
• Must be proficient in Arabic language (native Arabic).
• Willing to spend at least 4 months in Baghdad, Iraq.
• Excellent written and oral and communication skills in English.
• Advanced computer proficiency with an emphasis on Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
• Highly organized self-starter with proven success prioritizing multiple tasks, making critical decisions, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Ability to carry out responsibilities independently with minimal technical support.

Training requirements:

The applicant should have an experience in delivering one or more of the following training topics:

• Credit analysis: Financial statement analysis, industry analysis, and borrower assessment
  • Credit proposal development
    • Credit review and scoring
      • Risk management
      • Financial analysis
      • Preparing cash flows for SME projects
      • Bad debt classification and management
      • International Financial Reporting Standard 9 (IFRS 9) for banks and other financial institutions
      • Electronic archiving
      • HR performance management framework, recruitment and training processes
      • Marketing strategy development: outreach tools
