POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
The Athletic Eligibility Specialist is responsible for a variety of duties in the service of student-athletes involved in intercollegiate athletics, such as coordinating, directing, and implementing the programs and services provided by the department, including student-athlete athletic eligibility. Additionally, the position will provide complex administrative support and subject matter expertise related to the operations details and integrity of the student athletic programs.
The selected candidate will evaluate all submitted records, forms, and information to determine student eligibility for participation in the District’s athletics programs; compile and distribute reports regarding student-athlete eligibility, while assisting in a collaborative process to ensure the District is in compliance with all CCCAA and conference athletic bylaws; and assists with the implementation of CCCAA rules on behalf of the athletic department.
The position will assist the Director of Kinesiology and Athletics in coverage of various athletic events within the department. This includes planning, organizing, and coordinating for a variety of meetings, workshops, conferences, and special events; securing event locations and arranging setup and catering/refreshments, attending events, greeting guests, and serving as a representative of the athletic department.
The normal work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with some additional evening and weekend hours. Over the summer, the schedule will change to Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
