| Department Summary | The Department of Biological Sciences is one of four departments in the College of Science. The Department has over 40 full-time faculty, 175 graduate students, 3,000 undergraduate students, 36 postdoctoral fellows and research scientists, and 13 Adjunct Faculty and Lecturers. Our faculty is a community of scholars dedicated to research and teaching in areas including Ecology, Environmental Science, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Physiology, Neuroscience, and Plant Biology. We offer Bachelor’s degrees in Biology, Biochemistry, Ecology, Medical Laboratory Science, and Forensic Science, as well as Master’s and Ph.D. degree programs in Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Environmental Science. We measure our success by the success of our students and the quality of our intellectual contributions. UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin, and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba. |
| Position Summary | The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Cell Biology. We encourage applicants with a research focus on cellular processes in any eukaryotic system. The faculty member will be expected to:

| Minimum Qualifications | The successful candidate must have (1) a doctorate degree in a life science or related discipline and postdoctoral experience; and (2) demonstrated success or potential for obtaining external funding to support an active research program. |
| Preferred Qualifications | Preference will be given to applicants with (1) at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience, (2) a record of scholarship and publications in top-tier journals appropriate to the applicant’s field of study, and (3) an academic record demonstrating the potential for excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching. |
