The Regional Assistant Director of Admissions will serve as an ambassador for Temple University to prospective students, families, counselors, community-based organizations and other key education stakeholders. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for promoting Temple and the City of Philadelphia as a college destination for students from outside Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will be based in the midwestern US and recruit within specifically designated areas in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and parts of Ohio. This position will travel heavily to conduct outreach and recruitment initiatives aimed at cultivating interest in Temple. The Assistant Director will give presentations, speak in front of large and small audiences, meet regularly with counselors, host receptions, staff college fairs, and conduct workshops and programming directly related to the admission and financial aid process. The incumbent will conduct extensive follow-up communication with students and families who have expressed interest in Temple. The Assistant Director will participate fully in the evaluation and selection process of first year candidates for admission. The incumbent will read applications and make decisions on a large volume of admission candidates. The incumbent will be required to travel to Temple’s main campus in Philadelphia 2-3 times a year. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree and three years of directly related admissions, enrollment management, or recruiting experience in a higher education environment. Experience speaking in front of large and small groups, as in delivering information sessions, lectures, or speaking at industry-specific conferences. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:
* Demonstrated interest in working with high school students, parents, counselors and community-based organizations about the college admission and/or financial aid process.
* Ability to travel extensively throughout a geographic region in the United States (valid driver’s license required).
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of students, parents, staff and faculty.
* Excellent organization and time management skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality with student records.
* Ability to lift boxes of promotional material of approximately 20 pounds. 
* Demonstrated ability to utilize an electronic student information system.
* Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as needed.

This position requires a background check.
This position requires Child Abuse Certifications prior to the commencement of service.

Please note this position will temporarily work remotely, the duration of remote work will be at the discretion of Temple University and the department.
