We have an exciting opportunity for BCU new Sports Sciences 2022 graduates following successful completion of studies, from September, for a 10-month opportunity to gain paid technical work experience within our own Sports department (applicants from related BCU programmes such as PE may also be considered).
The successful applicants will work with the technical team, assisting with the preparation, set-up and clearance of Sports classes. Maintenance of sports related equipment and keeping facilities safe and operational are important parts of the job.
As part of your work, you will develop a portfolio of skills and undertake any training and development opportunities assigned by your line manager or mentor.
There will be an opportunity to develop the essential technical skills that are required for working in the sports sciences in Higher Education. You will develop knowledge of health and safety good practice and of assisting students during practical sessions and workshops.
Candidates are expected to be organised, team oriented, punctual, and motivated. Demonstration of these qualities by the successful candidates, may lead to further employment opportunities to become a key part of the Technical team including at new facilities in development.
Applicants should be able to work independently when necessary and be present on campus for 30 hours per week as needed, to provide technical support.
