This opening is for the position of an Associate Program Implementation Specialist for the Program Evaluation and Research Unit (PERU) in the School of Pharmacy’s Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics. The Associate Program Implementation Specialist will work as part of our productive, collaborative team at the University of Pittsburgh. For over ten years, our team has been dedicated to conducting high-quality implementation, evaluation, and research work across Pennsylvania and the United States.

The Associate Program Implementation Specialist will provide technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders across the commonwealth related to overdose reduction efforts, including entities such as healthcare providers, community coalitions, and other institutions. Successful candidates should have the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary program team to solve complex problems related to community and stakeholder engagement and evidence-based program implementation in the area of Substance Use Disorder. An understanding of evidence-based prevention, treatment, and recovery program implementation as well as issues related to implementation quality and fidelity and performance/ impact/ outcome assessment would be ideal.

Duties involve providing technical assistance to ensure high-quality program delivery, collection and reporting of program performance and impact data, and program sustainability, including: telephonic and in-person practice site consultation(s), regular review of program data to ensure quality, identify technical assistance needs, and summarize data for internal and external stakeholders; collaborating with the PERU program team to create tools and resources to support providers in their provision of prevention, treatment, and recovery services; creating or organizing training that enhances sites’ capacities for quality implementation and sustainability; and facilitating periodic presentations at conferences, during webinars, or as part of internal team meetings.

 
Experience with healthcare systems is desirable. Department Details: Responsible for providing training and implementation support for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) training with healthcare students and professionals. Assist with implementation of curricula in educational institutions and of screens in healthcare systems. Coordinate and facilitate communication with external stakeholders to carry out initiatives and ongoing best-practices training.
