Associate Professor or Full Professor

The Department of Comparative Literature at Ibn Haldun University seeks to hire an associate professor or full professor with a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature or related field. We are in the process of establishing a graduate program and broadening our faculty. Candidates with expertise in 1) Arabic, Persian or African literatures, 2) Translation studies, 3) Literary theory and criticism, or 4) Children’s literature are especially welcome to apply. The hire will be expected to participate in the administration of the program, and to support its graduate level teaching and training/mentoring.

Our curriculum structure is conducive to collaboration with other departments and programs in the humanities and social sciences at Ibn Haldun University. Our Department is particularly interested in expanding its engagement with various professional fields in contemporary society so scholars whose work speaks to such fields as arts, media and communication, publishing, and digital world will be given preference.

Native or near-native fluency in English, and at least two semesters of teaching experience in an undergraduate program is also required.
