About the position
The Faculty of Social Sciences are recruiting for an Associate Professor (or Senior Lecturer) at our campus in Levanger to be part of the teaching team within creative media and technology. The faculty would be prepared to recruit an Assistant Professor (Lecturer), with the expectation that the candidate would actively work towards qualification as Associate Professor. The position would be a permanent full-time position and be based at our Levanger campus. Nord University’s faculties are distributed over several campuses, and co-operation between the wider university is important. As such, occasional travel might be required.
Nord University has a strong reputation within education in the creative disciplines and offers degrees in: Film and TV Production; CG Art and Animation; Games and Entertainment Technology; Music Production; Theatre Production and Acting. Our international creative media programmes are delivered in English. As such, the position requires good oral and written English language skills.
We seek an Animator to design and deliver courses to our students and contribute to research within related topics. Candidates applying for the position of Animator should have a broad skillset in digital art software and experience within animation, VFX or games. Evidence of personal work and contribution to published or commercial projects should support the application.

The position will serve a prominent role in the development and delivery of the creative media study programmes. Successful candidates will also be expected to contribute to the University’s strategic objectives as a member of the international academic community through research, education, cooperation with business and contribution to society. Research activities should be supported by regional, national and international funding and lead to meaningful output. The position will also include relevant administrative, management and leadership duties. Continuous professional development, and participation in peer-group activities, is also expected.

The position is compensated according to Norwegian government regulations, code 1011 for associate professor (research-oriented), code 1198 for associate professor (teaching-oriented) and code 1009 for assistant professor. Salary by agreement.
