Associate Professor

Position Description:

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Cancer Center in partnership with basic science departments (Biochemistry, Biophysics, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Cell Biology, Neuroscience and Anatomy, Microbiology & Immunology) has made a strategic decision to expand on its strengths in Structural and Chemical Biology and now invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

The MCW CC is simultaneously investing $100M in four parallel research initiatives that include Structural and Chemical Biology, Immuno-Oncology, Metabolomics, Precision Oncology and Community Outreach & Survivorship, providing broad translational opportunities for structure-based drug discovery. Cancer is the top strategic priority of MCW. MCW, Froedtert Hospital and Children’s Wisconsin are the inpatient and outpatient market share leaders in cancer care in our catchment area of Eastern Wisconsin.

MCW (www.mcw.edu ) is the 3rd largest private medical school in the country, conducting over $200M annually in externally funded research, with over $145M from the NIH. A newly-established Structural and Chemical Biology Center is home to state-of-the-art X-ray, NMR, and chemical synthesis facilities with ready access to shared resources for high-performance computing. MCW is also home to an NIH-designated National Biomedical EPR Center and Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute.

Available Positions:

This cluster recruitment seeks individuals to establish internationally leading research programs that apply the tools of chemical, computational or structural biology to fundamental questions in cancer. MCW Cancer Center will seek the recruitment of six faculty (one mid-career and five junior) within the next three years.
