Job Description:

What You’ll Do
 

  • Analyzes security events to identify threats to the environment.  Contributes to incident monitoring, handling, and response activities.  Performs thorough analysis and problem solve to improve cyber defense technology, processes, and procedures.

  • Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.                                                                               

How You’ll Do It

  • Monitors aggregated security events to detect malicious activity. Ensures proper handling of security incidents for containment and remediation. Perform detailed analysis of security incidents to the fullest extent of the data available. Evaluate external threats and zero-day vulnerabilities for applicability to the environment. Perform in-depth analysis of security issues or vulnerabilities. 

  • Proposes tunes for rules, filters, and policies to improve detection accuracy and visibility                          

  • Review documentation of runbooks, alert logic, policies, and procedures.                                                 

  • Produce actionable intelligence in the form of reports, cases, notifications, and briefings                     

  • Recognize security violations and report incidents as required.                                                         

Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of Novice on the Dreyfus Cyber engineering scale.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  • Bachelors – Computer Science or  Information Security

  • 0  years  of experience in Information Security, Application Security, Security Engineering or related

  • In liu of education 2+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Data Analytics or related

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $58,500.00 to $90,900.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
