This Major Programme comprises individual programmes on food and agriculture, human health, water resources, environment and radiation technologies. These programmes are supported by laboratories in Seibersdorf, Monaco and Vienna. The Major Programme’s objective is to enhance the capacity of Member States to meet basic human needs and to assess and manage the marine and terrestrial environments through the use of nuclear and isotopic techniques in sustainable development programmes.Main PurposeUnder the overall guidance and supervision of the Departmental Administrative Officer, the Associate Finance and Management Officer assists with operational and financial activities, events and travel related requests, as well as related analysis, monitoring and reporting. He/she supports Departmental efforts to improve efficiencies through streamlined work processes.RoleWorking collaboratively within the Department as well as with other departments, the Associate Finance and Management Officer is:
(1) a facilitator, assisting with the budget and finance processes, through forecasting, monitoring the budget implementation and application of financial rules, regulations, policies and procedures, analysing and interpreting financial information and preparing reports.
(2) a team member, ensuring compliance with the regulatory framework for events organization, travel and correspondence checking for completeness, adherence with the rules and style guidelines.Functions / Key Results Expected
