Summary

Assists in the daily operations of the department to meet educational objectives and serves as a university community standards & conduct hearing officer for student matters.

Essential Job Functions

  • Adjudicates community standards and conduct cases, including cases related to academic integrity, for students regarding matters that are violations of the student code of conduct and maintains compliance with the conduct review process
  • Participates in the development and assessment of the department’s student learning outcomes
  • Prepares and delivers conduct software training, report writing training, and technical support to conduct staff members
  • Provides leadership and oversight in the recruitment, selection and training of faculty and staff conduct officers, panelists and advisors
  • Develops and facilitates programs, presentations and initiatives that support the educational philosophy of the department and increase knowledge of the student code of conduct and conduct review process
  • Tracks trends in students’ disciplinary infractions to provide accurate records, comply with government statistical reporting requirements, and respond with appropriate community education
  • Provides leadership on the CARE team and serves as a case manager
  • Serves as a Title IX liaison, as directed
  • Monitors and recommends updates to campus and residential policies and protocols
  • Acts as a liaison with campus safety and security for the office of residential life and dean of student’s office
  • Serves on various committees and teams throughout the university
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a master’s degree
  • Moderate amount of experience working in student affairs, student conduct, residential life or other related work 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or greater in higher education administration, student affairs, legal studies or a related field of study
  • Experience working as a university hearing officer
  • Experience serving as a case manager or member of a university behavioral intervention/CARE team
  • Experience with using Maxient Student Conduct Software
