Cornell University , a nationally ranked Ivy League institution, is looking for an Associate Director, Diversity Alumni Programs to join the Alumni Affairs & Development division in Ithaca, NY.
The Diversity Alumni Programs team annually engages over 1,000 volunteers, 25,000+ alumni, and hundreds of students, parents and families. The Associate Director reports to the Director for Diversity Alumni Programs. The position is pivotal in facilitating division-wide engagement and strengthening Cornell’s relationship with its alumni.
This role can expect to engage with a variety of teams across AAD and will be the direct volunteer manager for a portfolio of identity-based associations, support the committees of the President Council of Cornell Women and Cornell Mosaic, and collaborate on DEIB related programming for all alumni audiences. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, customer-orientation, and a willingness to learn and use a variety of technology. This position is a hybrid work schedule with a set schedule of days in-person and days working from home each week.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the boards and support the activity of a portfolio of identity-based alumni organizations;
Manage the volunteers of Cornell Mosaic committees on programming and engagement and committees of PCCW;
Manage diversity programming at large alumni events such as Homecoming, Trustee Council Annual Meeting, Cornell Alumni Leadership Conference, and Reunion;
Maintain a robust communications schedule and social media outreach for Diversity Alumni Programs;
Develop and implement, in consultation with the Director of DAP, DEIB related programming for all alumni audiences.
Core Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of experience, working in a large, complex, team-based environment that involves working with a mixture of internal and external constituents on a regular basis, or the equivalent.
Experience in or relevant experience in designing and implementing alumni engagement and lifelong programs.
Training and/or facilitation experience with issues related to diversity, social justice, intercultural competencies, and/or cross-cultural understanding.
Must have the ability to effectively lead, support, build and maintain relationship with internal partners and volunteers.
Understanding of fundraising, specifically identification, cultivation, and stewardship.
Must be able to work both independently and in collaboration with internal and external constituents.
Excellent interpersonal skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively deliver a group presentation.
Must be able to exercise judgment and discretion and make decisions that may impact the organization and its constituents.
