We have an exciting remote opportunity for a highly motivated Associate Director, Counsel – Global Trade Programs to join our team!

What You Will Do:

As Associate Director and Counsel, Global Trade Programs, the selected candidate will be responsible for providing advice and counsel on Global Trade regulations in the United States and Canada, and globally as required. The selected candidate will be part of the Global Compliance team in P&W’s Legal, Contracts, and Compliance organization and will report to the Deputy Director & Senior Counsel, Global Trade.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing and applying Global Trade regulations (both U.S. and non-U.S.) to support business needs in the context of internal and external stakeholders
  • Partnering with various stakeholders across the company to provide real-time, compliant Global Trade advice to support business needs
  • Reviewing and negotiating contracts
  • Providing sanctions support and analysis
  • Assisting as needed with internal investigations relating to Global Trade matters
  • Working collaboratively with members of the Global Compliance team and stakeholders across the company to manage compliance risk and support business initiatives
  • Assisting in the development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of P&W and RTX policies, standard work, and processes related to Global Trade
  • Continually enhancing and improving P&W’s Global Trade program and maintaining a heightened awareness of the RTX Code of Ethics, always acting with integrity
  • Must be willing to comply with applicable pre-employment screening, including but not limited to drug testing, reference verification, and background check
  • Travel – 10%. The employee will be required to attend periodic onsite meetings in East Hartford, Connecticut or other job related travel

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) and 10+ years of legal experience, including 5+ years of Global Trade experience
  • Good standing with a state bar association and in-house counsel registration in a timely manner following hire
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance – this position may also require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Demonstrated history as a strong leader and team player with excellent judgment and professional maturity
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal daily supervision, collaborate with others, and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Experience with U.S. and Canadian export and import regulations, Office of Foreign Asset Control regulations, and other relevant regulatory schemes
  • Prior experience reviewing contracts, providing sanctions advice, and providing Global Trade business support
  • Background within an aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience with non-U.S. Global Trade regulations, with particular focus on Europe and India

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD – 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
