Position Title ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR/CLIENT SERVICES
Position Summary Responsible for office and institutional compliance with federal Title IV regulations, office communications, advising, reception, and outreach services. Provide administrative leadership to all office staff on program information, office services, award packages, documents, office mail, website, calendar and publications. Maintain an up-to-date and accurate office policies and procedures manual. Handle student appeals for independent status and budget adjustments. Coordinate special circumstances, PLUS exemption, verification and alternative loan processing. Develop and coordinate all office activities related to advising, reception, student service court, financial aid presentations, orientation, and outreach services and events. Supervise, develop and train all staff in matters above. Responsible for hiring process for office vacancies.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree
Four years of administrative experience with two years of experience administering college student services
Demonstrated knowledge of student financial aid programs and regulations
Demonstrated knowledge of student information systems
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and across units
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to process and detail
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job
Preferred Qualifications Masters degree
Knowledge of financial aid software and operations
Direct experience in a college financial aid office
Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations
Demonstrated supervisory skills
Duties & Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the development and activities of the office staff as they relate to client services
Design, develop, and maintain office communications with clients to include award notices, information manuals, tracking documents, e-mail notifications, web site services, office calendars schedules.
Review and respond to student appeals to include independent status, and increased financial aid budgets.
Coordinate and monitor financial aid package adjustments for special situations to include plus loan exemptions, verification, and loan application processing
Develop and maintain federally required policies and procedures manual
Represent the office in matter of financial aid programs and services to include student service court operations, orientation support, admissions programs, area high school outreach, state and federal agencies, and professional organizations.
Review overall client services and office service excellence and recommend changes for continuous improvement.
Gather, review and implement staff suggestions for improvement in office administration, policies, procedures and student services.
Maintain strong working relationships within and outside the office for enhanced services to students, faculty, staff and outside constituents.
Review and maintain all office publications and public relations activities
Review, notify and recommend office and institutional compliance with federal Title IV Regulations.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
