Job Summary:

The Office of Strategic Consulting serves as a resource for academic and administrative units on campus, helping to enhance organizational effectiveness by supporting strategic initiatives, change, and improvement efforts while building organizational capacity.
The Administrative Associate Director will work closely with the Director of the Office of Strategic Consulting, providing day-to-day administrative leadership for a dynamic internal consulting and project management office. The Associate Director will be responsible for managing the office’s budget and fiscal planning, human resources, business operations, and implementation of the unit’s strategic initiatives. This role will serve as a key member of the Strategic Consulting leadership team and will work collaboratively across the office’s operational units to advance key strategic initiatives, improve overall operations, and continue to make the Office of Strategic Consulting a great place to work. This position will directly supervise two administrative support professionals.

Responsibilities: Assists with the planning and direction for multiple administrative operations of a division or large business unit(s) of the institution to advance program goals and objectives.
  • 10% Engages in strategic planning and policies to ensure the strategic direction supports the needs of stakeholders
  • 20% Evaluates, designs, and implements operations to align with the strategic direction
  • 20% Establishes goals and priorities for the annual budget for all revenues and expenditures
  • 10% Serves as the unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups providing organizational information and representing the interests of the unit
  • 10% Ensures that policies, procedures, and standards are maintained and develops processes and procedures to improve the unit
  • 10% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • 20% Oversees the successful implementation of strategic initiatives and special projects, as assigned

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree

Qualifications:

REQUIRED:
– 5 years progressively responsible professional experience in (some combination of) administrative operations, human resources (e.g., recruitment and retention), or budget and fiscal planning.
– 3 years of experience working in non-profit, government, higher education, or other complex, mission-driven environment
– Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders both internal and external to the organization, and at all levels (including executive leadership).
– Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex processes, policies, etc. to a variety of audiences
– Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
– Experience directing and/or managing the work of others including establishing work priorities, clearly expressing expectations, providing ongoing feedback related to employee performance, and identifying and recommending appropriate professional development opportunities
– Experience successfully managing multiple projects, strategic initiatives, and responsibilities simultaneously
PREFERRED:
– Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and a record of successful implementation of improvement initiatives

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%
This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $70,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
