Position Responsibilities

Position Summary The Associate Dean for Research & Instruction, University Libraries is a full-time senior leadership position that reports to the Dean, University Libraries and serves as a member of the Libraries Leadership Team. In coordination with the Dean, University Libraries, the Associate Dean for Research & Instruction is responsible for coordinating Library instruction and liaison programs; overseeing digital collections, digital scholarship, and open strategies efforts; fostering a culture that supports and elevates scholarship, pursuit of grants, and professional advancement amongst Library faculty members; coordinating Library fellowships for students and non-Library faculty; and, in assigned areas, working directly with Unit Heads and Cross-Functional Team leads to set goals and measure performance indicators.
Unit/Department Summary Library Administration provides essential support for all library departments and services by overseeing library human resources, finances, grant management, facilities, development, and strategic directions and projects, as well as all other general administrative activities necessary for continued effective library operations.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Degree Required Listed degree qualification is required at time of application.
Required Qualifications 1) Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library program or the equivalent.
2) Must be a current University of Idaho library faculty member and hold a rank of associate/full professor with tenure.
3) Have two or more years of progressively responsible administrative experience.
Preferred Qualifications 1) A second master’s degree, doctorate, or specialized coursework.
2) Success in grants application.
