Position Summary

The Associate Director of Academic Programs will be responsible for overseeing the Master of Public Health (MPH) in the Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM), encompassing the HPM Core, and three certificates led by HPM: Health Policy Analysis, Health Policy & Practice and Comparative Effectiveness & Outcomes Research.

In addition to managing the multiple MPH formats, the Associate Director will be responsible for advising students to meet their academic and professional goals. This position serves as an academic advisor to MPH students, which includes supporting students as they navigate graduate school, explore professional opportunities in the public health and healthcare systems, identify and complete their certificates, and the applied practice and integrative learning experiences. This position will also be involved with CEPH accreditation, admissions recruiting and application review for the MPH in HPM, as well as help explore new public health and healthcare professional opportunities.

The Associate Director will contribute to strategic projects for the department and will work collaboratively with the Office of Educational Programs, Office of Student Affairs, Office of Enrollment Management, and Office of Careers & Practice. S/he will report administratively to the Senior Director of Education and programmatically to the Certificate Faculty Directors.

Responsibilities

  • Student Advising – 40%
  • Certificate and Curriculum Management – 30%
  • Enrollment Management and Review – 15%
  • Projects and Events – 10%
  • Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested – 5%

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MPH, MHA, MPA, MEd, etc.), law degree or other related graduate degree and a minimum of three years of healthcare or public health experience required and strong writing skills. .

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five or more years of relevant academic and/or public health and health systems experience preferred.

Other Requirements

  • Must have the flexibility to work different schedules when needed. This position is hybrid, requiring approximately 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days of remote work.
