ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Student Success division at the University of South Florida, is comprised of 61 departments, providing students with academic support, engagement opportunities, health & wellness services and enhancement of the educational experience. The Office of Admissions is responsible for leading institutional efforts to meet the granular enrollment targets outlined in the USF Strategic Enrollment Plan, to include goals relating to the recruitment, application evaluation, and yield of undergraduate FTIC and transfer students (in-state, out-of-state and international) and the admission of graduate students (domestic and international) at University of South Florida for the Tampa, St. Pete and Sarasota-Manatee campuses. The Undergraduate Admissions team currently includes in-state, out-of-state and international recruitment and yield teams; the application evaluation team; the systems and data team; the customer care team; and the campus visitation and event management teams (Tampa campus only). The Graduate Admissions team currently includes the application processing team, which collaborates with Department Chairs in Academic Colleges to evaluate and decision graduate applications.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Vice President for Admissions is responsible for building and leading the teams responsible for the development and implementation of recruitment, admissions and yield strategies designed to achieve the granular enrollment targets outlined in the USF Strategic Enrollment Plan, including: Building and leading healthy, collaborative, empowered, productive, accountable, successful teams within the Office of Admissions. Developing, implementing and optimizing thoughtful institutional recruitment, admission and yield strategies designed to help USF achieve the enrollment targets outlined in the USF Strategic Enrollment Plan. Developing a framework that fosters productive collaboration between the Office of Admissions and institutional stakeholders. Thoughtfully and intentionally designing, developing, implementing and continuously optimizing efficient and effective systems. Managing the departmental budget, to include both payroll and operating budgets, in collaboration with branch campus budget authorities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Builds and leads healthy, collaborative, empowered, productive teams within the Office of Admissions. Hires, trains, coaches, supervises and evaluates the performance of all directors and associate directors who lead all teams within the Office of Admissions, which includes the in-state, out-of-state and international recruitment and yield teams; the application evaluation team; the systems and data team; the customer care team; and the campus visitation and event management teams.
Develops, implements and continuously optimizes thoughtful institutional recruitment, admission and yield strategies designed to help USF achieve the granular, campus and college-specific enrollment targets outlined in the USF Strategic Enrollment Plan. Launches sustainable practices to achieve FTIC, transfer and grad student enrollment targets, creating an empowering experience for students, increasing access for underserved populations, meeting academic profile metrics, and managing net tuition revenue for student benefit.
Develops, implements and continuously optimizes a collaborative framework that fosters healthy, productive collaboration between the Office of Admissions and institutional stakeholders, including the Academic Colleges, as well as units across Academic Affairs, Student Success, and Administrative Services. Continuously educates key stakeholders on enrollment best practices, and regularly and proactively communicates current state, to include producing and delivering presentations, producing and disseminating reports, and providing updates. Develops decision-making matrices designed to ensure that decisions made in the Office of Admissions do not inadvertently negatively impact prospective student audiences, enrollment management teams, or institutional stakeholders.
Designs, develops, implements and continuously refines efficient and effective systems that optimize performance while complying with relevant laws, regulations and policies. Continuously evaluates organizational structure; position descriptions, roles, responsibilities, compensation and job progression opportunities; technology infrastructure; policies, practices and processes; and budgets and resource allocation models. Collaborates with institutional stakeholders to support and empower all professional staff to design, develop and deliver an empowering customer journey for all prospective student audiences.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:

Bachelor’s Degree minimum
Ten or more years working in enrollment management leadership at a public or private university, preferably a research one (R1) institution.
Hands on experience in team building and leadership; performance optimization; business process design; recruitment pipeline development and management; predictive modeling and scoring; financial aid leveraging; budget management; CRM optimization; modern communication and marketing practices; project management; and related.
Proven track record of building and leading healthy, productive, dynamic teams, and developing and fostering healthy, productive collaboration across institutional boundaries leading to sustainable success in achieving enrollment goals.
PREFERRED:
Master’s Degree
