Assistant Teaching Professor Statistics

TERM ASSISTANT TEACHING PROFESSOR

Applications are invited for an 8-month term Assistant Teaching Professor position in Statistics in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John. The appointment is scheduled to commence August 26, 2024, and is subject to final budgetary approval.

The successful candidate should hold a PhD. (or be near completion) in any area of Statistics. Applicants with a master’s degree in Statistics and a strong record of teaching university level Statistics may also be considered.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics consists of eight full-time faculty members. We offer Majors in Mathematics and in Statistics, and maintain a graduate programme. UNB Saint John has a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and training. The successful applicant will be expected to teach six introductory and senior level undergraduate courses. Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating excellence in teaching and potential for undergraduate project supervision.
A complete application package must include a cover letter (including a statement of current citizenship), a curriculum vitae and evidence of teaching effectiveness not to exceed five pages.

Applicants must also arrange to have three letters of reference emailed directly to the address above, with a minimum of two such letters addressing the applicant’s teaching ability and experience.

Application Deadline: Complete application packages, including letters of reference, must be received by July 22, 2024. Only successful, short-listed applicants will be contacted.

Short-listed candidates will be required to provide satisfactory proof of credentials including appropriately certified translations of credentials into English, as applicable.
