The Gustavson School of Business (www.uvic.ca/gustavson) at the University of Victoria is one of the few North American schools that is accredited by both the European Federation of Management Development (EFMD) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The School offers Bachelor of Commerce, Master of Business Administration, and Master of Global Business degrees – all of which have a sustainability focus embedded in their curriculum – as well as a PhD degree in Management and Organization. We are a pioneer in integrating curriculum across business disciplines at both the undergraduate and graduate level and seek candidates who can work across traditional functional boundaries. The Gustavson School of Business invites applications from talented Marketing scholars for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor to commence on July 1, 2026.
The candidate’s qualifications, experience and overall market demand will determine a candidate’s final salary offer. The salary for this position includes a competitive salary range of $135,000 – $166,000. UVic is committed to offering an equitable and competitive salary, inclusive of a generous benefits package, eligible leaves and pension plan.
Qualified candidates will:
• Have a master’s degree in Marketing or a related discipline (e.g., MBA) and can demonstrate knowledge of marketing principles, theory, and practice as well as expertise in digital marketing.
• Have significant practical experience in the area of marketing including digital marketing as evidenced through professional work experience and / or consulting.
• Have experience with a variety of pedagogical tools including case studies, experiential exercises and simulations and practice-oriented pedagogy.
• Demonstrate a track record or pipeline of scholarly activities including but not limited to market research or marketing education research, clinical and/or community-engaged research, mastery awareness of field knowledge and current scholarship, independent research on the scholarship of teaching and learning, activities that enhance one’s ability to engage in research-engaged teaching, and the use of scholarly methods in the development of courses, program or curricula and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
• Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively in an academic unit and across disciplines within the business school and the university, and have experience in promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in the classroom and on campus.
