Description of the workplace
The research group Molecular Metabolism conducts research aimed at understanding why the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas do not function properly in type 2 diabetes. The research has been at the forefront of the field for several years. A major focus has been on molecular processes that regulate metabolic and genetic changes in the beta cell during the disease. The group is headed by Professor Hindrik Mulder and Associate Professor Malin Fex and contains several postdocs and technical staff. The group is located at CRC in Malmö.

Duties and responsibilities
The person we are looking for will work with different cell models for beta cells to understand the disease mechanisms of type 2 diabetes. Most studies studies will require stem cell work from patients with the disease who will be differentiated into beta cells. Molecular biology and genome editing tools are instrumental to this project.

The employment is a fixed-term employment (SÄVA) with a scope of 100% for 5 months with a desired entry date of 1 November in 2022.
