SUMMARY
Office of the Provost is seeking an experienced educator to build and lead a new center for inclusive pedagogy in the arts as part of a comprehensive approach to faculty development at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). This is an exciting opportunity to lead and expand existing faculty development programs and develop a new center dedicated to adapting CalArts’ legacy of radical pedagogy to a 21st century context that reflects CalArts’ process-focused approach steeped in experimentation and creative freedom and committed to the values of equity, inclusion, diversity and access. Equity-minded, anti-racist, culturally responsive and inclusive approaches will undergird the framework for this new center. As faculty director of the center, this role will engage a faculty that are working artists and scholars to develop and implement a vision for inclusive teaching, mentoring, and learning at CalArts as the Institute celebrates its fifty years and looks ahead to shape its future.
