Position Description
The Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary invites applications for a two-year limited term appointment at the Assistant Professor (Teaching) rank with professional practice, teaching experience, and scholarship in the area of Elementary Curriculum, Pedagogy and/or Assessment. The appointment will commence July 1, 2024, or at a mutually agreeable date. The position includes on-campus and online course-based teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs, with a focus on the BEd Community-based program.
Preference will be given to applicants with the following areas of expertise:
• Varied teaching experience at the K-12 level in Canada;
• Teaching experience in rural and/or remote communities;
• Scholarly expertise in elementary curriculum, assessment, and/or pedagogy; and
• K-12 leadership experience.
The successful applicant will have:
• A doctorate in Education;
• Elementary education scholarship expertise in curriculum, pedagogy and/or assessment;
• Expertise and experience in teaching in K-12 schools;
• Successful experience in instruction Bachelor of Education courses in online and on campus environments;
