The Department of Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for a 2-year Limited Term Appointment (Social Psychology) at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning May 1, 2026, subject to budgetary approval. The primary campus location for this position is Waterloo campus; however, teaching responsibilities may include instruction at the Milton and Brantford campus via in-person or virtual delivery.
Anticipated Salary Range: $90,000 to $125,000. Actual salary to be commensurate with experience.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must have a PhD (or a confirmed defense date before Sept 1, 2026) in Social Psychology or a closely related field and demonstrated capacity to teach courses in Social Psychology. We seek a qualified scholar with a record of excellence in university teaching and service. Evidence of an ongoing program of research in Social Psychology, interest in undergraduate and graduate student training, and serving on graduate thesis committees, are assets. Expertise and willingness to teach in advanced quantitative methods are assets.

Also, in line with our focus on experiential learning, we are seeking a candidate with an interest in incorporating experiential learning opportunities into the curriculum and mentoring undergraduate students including through the supervision of independent studies. Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the position will include:
• Teaching up to five one-term undergraduate courses per year in Psychology. These will include courses in Social and Personality Psychology, and may additionally include related courses (e.g., Organizational Psychology, Positive Psychology, Health Psychology, or additional courses in methods, statistics, or Introductory Psychology.
• Engaging students in innovative and effective teaching methods, including experiential learning.
• Advising and mentoring students in their academic and career pursuits.
• Pursuing scholarly activities in a substantive area of Psychology, which may include scholarship related to teaching and pedagogy.
The successful candidate is also expected to contribute service to the University and academic community, and to scholarly and/or professional activities.
