Assistant Professor of Teaching (tenure-track)

The School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus invites applications for two full-time faculty positions at the Assistant Professor of Teaching (tenure-track) level. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2026, with the possibility of negotiation. This position is ideal for an educator-scholar who is passionate about excellence and innovation in nursing education, and who commits to build a career in a collegial, research-informed, student-centered environment.
As an Assistant Professor of Teaching, the successful candidate will have a Master of Nursing (PhD desired) or equivalent qualification and be expected to demonstrate evidence of scholarly activity in teaching and learning. They will also need to show potential for securing competitive external funding that supports the development of scholarly activity related to teaching and learning. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach effectively across undergraduate and graduate levels in nursing, and show evidence of contribution to curriculum design, program delivery, or educational innovation. The Successful Candidate will be required to have registration as a nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) within 3 years.

At the rank of Assistant Professor of Teaching, the successful candidate will be reviewed for reappointment, promotion, and tenure in subsequent years in accordance with the Collective Agreement. Salary will be commensurate with rank, experience, and qualifications. All UBC positions are subject to final budgetary approval.
The expected pay range for this position at the Assistant Professor level is ($105,000 – $120,000 per annum) plus a generous benefits package.
