Assistant Professor of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at the University of Alaska Anchorage offers undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs aimed at preparing students: (1) for advanced study in the social and health sciences, and (2) to become members of the behavioral health workforce. The department also maintains the Psychological Services Center, a clinic that provides low cost mental health services to campus and community members. The department strives to offer degree and certificate programs that meet the needs of the state of Alaska. With more than 400 students and 15 faculty members, the UAA Psychology Department is Alaska’s largest center for the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Evidence of potential for successful teaching, service, and research activity.
Typical Experience:
Length of time and type of experience required for this position should be appropriate to the rank of tenure track assistant professor. Applicants must have university-level teaching experience and record of research and publication or demonstrated potential for research and publication.
Required Education or Training:

Doctoral degree in Clinical, Counseling, or Clinical-Community Psychology from an APA accredited program at the time of hire and be licensed or be license-eligible in Alaska. ABDs will be considered but employment is contingent on conferral of degree by time of hire in August 2023.

Salary Information:

This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure track, faculty position complete with both a competitive salary (DOE) and full employee benefits package , with an expected start date in August 2023.
