Assistant Professor of Environmental Science – Tenure Track

The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at the University of Mount Union invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in Environmental Science beginning on August 1, 2023. Successful candidates will join a growing interdisciplinary environmental sciences program that is supported by well-equipped teaching and research labs, as well as Mount Union’s 285-acre Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center. 

Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities may include courses in introductory biology, environmental science, ecology, climatology and upper-level courses related to research expertise. Academic advising, involvement in departmental matters, and service to the University are required. 

Qualifications

Applicants with a Ph.D. in Environmental Science or a closely related field are encouraged to apply. Preferred areas of expertise include environmental science, terrestrial ecology, modern climates, GIS, and environmental remediation. A strong commitment to excellence in liberal arts undergraduate education and development of a productive, interdisciplinary undergraduate research program are expected.
